Leaving home
Narration (leaving.mp3, 606 KB)
Voluntary expats are explorers. They seek new rich and promising territories. These places, both frightening and desired, are vast spaces of knowledge and encounters, necessary to individual transformation.
Students are not the only ones who have to leave in order to get a better future. Every year, thousands of natives leave their villages for big cities where specialized schools, hospitals, re-education centers and hiring companies are established. In all cases, they will have to relearn how to live in unknown, often unfriendly, environments where life moves very fast.
They will also make new friends and will overcome their boredom in their will and patience in reaching the goals that motivated them to leave. However, after this first exile, the remaining question will be to decide whether we go back home, we stay or we go somewhere else.
