Communicating by Radio
Narration (communicating.mp3, 587 KB)
Artisans of First nations' radio have the mission of faithfully conveying, in their languages, the words of people in their communities in order to actively maintain, through technology, oral culture precious to First people.
A wide network of airwaves has been created so that everyone, from youths to elders, listens and replies to each other. Radio became a privileged mean of transmission to convey stories, opinions, aspirations and news from members of native communities. The task is demanding because topics are often complex.
This is why, journalists and film-directors emphasize on the activities of community social workers, health and law interveners. We also ensures that tradition holds on to present time and we gather cultural knowledge for future generations. Despite this, entertainment has a favourite place with songs and humour.
