Preventing suicide

Youths know what they need: attention, respect and love. Their hope is also based on the trust they give to the ones that are in their lives and that support them in their efforts to overcome their malexistence. Not so long ago, suicide was almost unknown among First nations. Outside changes forced native communities to take a fast transition. As a result, unbalance affects all generations.

Some seek their courage in traditions, while others adhere to new activities such as circus exercises. They gain self-confidence and the capacity to express themselves, within a group that functions with rules, in mutual respect.

The whole social fabric is affected by theses suicidal acts. Faced with the pain of families and mostly of the youths, health and law sectors are forced to react and to propose appropriate solutions.
