Cooperating
Narration (cooperating.mp3, 743 KB)
The cooperative model takes care of the needs of the population by developing progressively, but surely, the resources that are available to the community. Cooperation benefits are real and sustainable; assuming more responsibility from participants, developing a sense of belonging, ending social problems and encouraging a more confident vision about the future.
Choosing priorities for native communities is often complex. Should we favour culture over education or economic development? Ideally, all sectors of a community should be developed together since they are interconnected. This is why cooperation is so important for the well-being of the community.
This implies that all its members contribute, according to their talents, to its development. Economic development based on the cooperative model, benefits the whole population rather than just a few individuals. Profits are reinvested in the community entreprises and are fairly distributed among its members.
